Theresa (Terri) Shockley is an artist turned arts administrator, currently serving as the executive director
of the Community Education Center (CEC) since 2001. Shockley has responsibility for organizational and program management of the CEC. She works with the
CEC board to raise and manage the $200K plus annual budget. Under her leadership, CEC has been the
recipient of numerous grants including the city’s Capital Grant for Arts and Culture, Pew Dance Advance,
PA Council of the Arts and the Knight Arts Challenge Matching Grant.

Leo Gadson founder of the Producers Guild has partnered with the CEC to produce and present jazz and more at the CEC for more than a dozen years. The 2nd Fridays on Lancaster Avenue jazz series presents some of the best jazz in the city of Philadelphia and brings together audiences from across the area region.
